As of June 1, 2024, Aztra Zeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim will cap the cost of their inhalers for COPD and Asthma at $35.00 in the US. For many sufferers of COPD and Asthma, this is a Godsend. Myself included. I barely qualified for Prescription Assistance this year. The reason is my wife got a better paying job that she likes better than her last one. On top of her salary, bonuses, and my SS, I was on the cusp of having to pay the full asking price monthly myself. It seems like we always didn't make enough to afford a lot of things our whole married lives (44 yrs. and still counting) yet made too much to qualify for any kind of assistance. I do not have prescription coverage, just Medicare A & B. As my wife suffers from mild Asthma, she also uses inhalers. We have been discussing ways to afford them without Prescription Assistance. But not a problem anymore. I can afford it now. I am pretty sure most people know this already, but it was never posted here that I know of, and I visit everyday. I hope our elected officials keep reeling in the pharmaceutical companies in the future.
