I feel like a burden

I was diagnosed with copd roughly around when I was 42 unfortunately I didn't stop smoking right away so obviously it got worse 🙃 I here people on here talking about their pulmonary specialist I only see one when I am in hospital my gp is rubbish don't know what stage I am and now I also have a underactive thyroid, pernicious anemia,ostoparosis not sure if I've spelt that right and then I took a heart attack and caught covid last September 3 days b4 my 54th birthday I try to stay positive for my sons but I feel like a burden on them wish I had better healthcare maybe it'd be different I hardly go out mainly just medical appointments I know I smoked and wish I hadn't

  1. Hi , I hear how much you are contending with right now and how much it weighs on you. It is so hard to cope with all COPD and other chronic conditions and the impact that they have on you and your family. You are not a burden. I know it can be so hard to not feel guilty, but no one asks for COPD! Yes, we all make choices but there was a time when we didn't know just had damaging smoking was so try to give yourself some grace and forgiveness. Have you had the chance to speak with your sons about your feelings? If not, do you think it might be helpful to tell them how you are feeling?
