I am nearly fainting all the time

I have mild COPD but latley after a coughing fit I am nearly fainting and on top of this if I stand up too fast I am nearly fainting.
It's happened about 6 times in the last 24 hours and I'm a bit scared tbh.
Anyone else had this? And what advice do you have on what could this be?
TIA xx

  1. Hi , and welcome! I see you are a new member here, having joined today around noon-time. We are glad to see you already engaging with the community through these, you first two posts.
You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a reply.
There are any number of medical conditions that can result in the symptoms you've shared here with the community (vigorous coughing and/or position changes resulting in near fainting). Since you've mentioned that this has occurred six times in the last 24-hours, this can certainly be a concern. You may want to reach out for your physician to determine what, if anything, is causing this. As well, the doctor will want to establish a diagnosis and treatment as necessary.
    What do you think?

    1. I have to agree with . You need to speak with your doctor about this. I went through the same issues a while back, my doctor ran a bunch of tests, & found my issue rather quickly. I will pray for you to get some answers asap, & please keep us posted🙌🙂

      1. Hi again, Jennette, and thanks for chiming in here, lending your own support and encouragement, and also sharing your own personal experience managing COPD and it's various manifestations.
        We value your input.
        All the best,

    2. Welcome to the group! Last time, and every time, I've had this issue, I had pneumonia sneaking up on me. There can certainly be other causes, but the importance of getting checked out is paramount with COPD, as if allowed to continue unchecked, whatever it is could become severe and/or cause a serious setback in overall health. Go get checked out immediately and keep us posted on how you are doing. Better safe than sorry.

      1. Hi, how are you feeling? Were you able to reach out to your doctor or get other support? We are thinking of you and are concerned for your well-being. Take good care of yourself! -Melissa, copd.net team
