Home oxygen concentrator

Is a home oxygen concentrator

good to use? I have cold stage 4 and just going out a month ago. I also have congestive heart failure. Diabetic type 2. I had an heart ablation in 2019, I had had numerous Afib episodes before the ablation starting in 2014.

  1. Hi again Amber, and thanks for your post - this is a good topic!
First, let me welcome you to our COPD.net community website. I see you have just joined a few days ago on June 18. I also see that we have already had some conversations about how you were feeling. For ease of reference, here is a link to those conversations: https://copd.net/moderation/users/4740096.
We appreciate you sharing your medical circumstances here with the community. To address your concern about oxygen concentrators, I will say that if you have a prescription for the use of supplemental oxygen, the oxygen can be dispensed several different ways in the home environment. The equipment (for the home), is generally either through oxygen cylinders/tanks and/or the use of an oxygen concentrator.
The best way to determine which is the most suitable type of equipment for your use would be to discuss this with your prescribing physician. What do you think?
Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
We have a genuine concern for your good health.
    Warm regards,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

      1. Thank you for the links for Diabetes and CHF sites as I also have both sadly.

    2. Hi Amber, I have the home oxygen concentrator and also the portable one. They both work great for me since I have this unfounded fear of the tanks. Hope whatever you use works for you.'
