jolyn1985,
I guess the answer is what exactly do you mean by "if breathing will get better"? If you are a diagnosed COPD sufferer, then the likelihood of your breathing getting better is a matter of perspective. Once a definitive diagnosis is made, the medications you are prescribed should help you breathe easier. There is little chance your lungs will recover to 100%. COPD is a progressive disease. It will get worse over time. All one can do is your best to keep it at bay. Keep off the cigarettes as you have to for past 8 days. The urge to smoke should be less and less every day. Keep that up for sure. If I am on the wrong track and misunderstood your question, let me know. Keep the forum up to date on how it is going and do not hesitate to ask more questions as you feel necessary. Take Care and God Bless!
