Help for depression

I often feel depressed I have stage 3 copd can't do much. If anyone has tips to help please let me know.

  1. Hi again, , and thanks for sharing this with the community. While I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own experiences managing COPD and depression, I have something to contribute as well.
There have been others in the community who have expressed similar sentiments when it comes to COPD and depression. We actually have a wealth of material, published right here on COPD.net, which speaks to this topic.
For your convenience, here is a link to many of those articles. I realize there are a good number of them to see. I provided them so you would have them for future reference rather than think you would want to read them all at once.
I do hope you find the information is helpful to you in a practical way.
    Wishing you well,

  2. - Hi, and welcome! I can tell you I've spent my entire life, after growing up with an abusive father, and dealing with addiction, and now COPD and a list of other issues, I get it. I struggled for many years with depression, have spent time living in the rubber room and doing the Thorazine shuffle, am clean and sober for many years now, and life never cuts us any slack. I've learned the most important thing - keep moving. Stay busy. Do something. Don't sit or lie still, ever. So, even though I can now do very little physically, I still have hobbies and interests. I am a baseball fan. I do leatherwork and Native American beadwork. I actually watch some tv shows, though for most of my life I didn't. I do a little computer gaming. I fix things for people. I try to keep house well and enjoy time with my cat. I do whatever I need to do to maintain a sense of humor and laugh. I read voraciously. I have an extensive music collection, and listen to it most of the time. I learn new things every day. I try not to worry. Sometimes life gets overwhelming, but I have tools to keep me from sinking into the quicksand. It takes practice, but it works. My life has a strong undertow, but as long as I have my floaties on, I am okay.

    1. I feel for you I suffer with bad depression I read a lot because I can't do much I give out even on my oxygen walking is impossible for me. I also enjoy my 5 dogs. I sometimes just sit outside and watch them play. Wanted you to know you're not alone. Good luck enjoy some small things in your life.
