Experience with Breztri ?

I've been diagnosed with COPD for about three years now and one of the largest problems I run into aside from the disease itself is the insurance company always jacking with the medication my pulmonologist prescribes. they don't want to pay for this or that or change their mind from year to year. I recently switched from using Spiriva and Symbicort to Breztri. The insurance company doesn't like Breztri but I have a discount coupon from the manufacturer that makes it affordable without the insurance. So my question is has anyone seen significant improvement with Breztri over others to where fighting with the insurance would be worth it when the coupons run out. I've only been on it a short time and don't know if I see much difference, other than only having to manage 1 medication instead of 2.

  1. Hi Earl, and thanks for your post. I am hopeful others in the community will see your post and respond by sharing their own experiences using this medication (Breztri). In the meantime, I thought you might want to look over the material we have published, right here on COPD.net, which focuses on the medication.
For your convenience, here is a link to those articles: https://copd.net/search?s=breztri.
As you look them over, you'll note that some are from our editorial team while, still others, are from our community members.
I do hope you find them to be helpful.
    All the best,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    1. I have also just been switched to Breztri about 30 days ago....I bought a spacer for it and it helps CONSIDERABLY since it allows the Medici e to do directly to my.lungs without my tongue getting in the way. I still brunch my tongue and teeth after just to avoid thrush but the spacer helps. The medicine itself works better for me than the Symbicort that I was on previously

      1. Thanks for the reply, I'm going to look into those spacers. If they will improve delivery they would be worth it !!

      2. , we do ave some information on spacers right here on our site if you are interested! It can be found here: https://copd.net/living/spacers-technique and https://copd.net/answers/expert-spacers. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

    2. No experience myself but my friend got switched over to it this year and sings its praises highly! He says it's far better than Symbicort, and his insurance co-pay is about the same. For me, I am still on Symbicort, but I am not sure it is making a difference, so I am considering stopping it to see. I am on 02 24/7 and Prednisone 5mg per day. If I can stop the Symbicort I can save the $35 per month cost of it as well as the difficulty with the inhalers, as they are mechanically defective much of the time.

      1. Thanks for the reply, that's good news on the Breztri from your friend. Good luck on leaving Symbicort behind !!
