Doctor Fatigue

Along with being overwhelmed with too many Doctor appointments and testing; for me there is the added stress of transportation.
My local Elder services center will provide transportation with. a 48 hr notice but they give you a 45 minute window for pick up . For me this means waiting outside regardless of weather conditions.
My HCP has been very good about using Telehealth calls as opposed to in office visits when possible.
I would also like to add that this Summers excessive heat and humidity has caused me to cancel appointments

  1. I wish there was a better way, . Thank goodness for telehealth. For really important appointments, can you afford Uber or Lyft now and then or do you need a vehicle that can accomodate wheelchairs? Is there are friend or family member who might be able to help in a pinch? Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Thank you for your concern, I tried using Uber but I cant get the APP to work because my ID is expired . With enough notice one of my daughters can take me but that means they miss some work and I dont want to buren them

    2. Hi . No one wants to feel like a burden, but I can tell you from experience that your children will worry less if you reach out whenever you need them. Maybe they can help you get your ID renewed. That one trip could save them many more. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Allan, does the elder services van come to your door? I use a similar service to travel, and I sit on a small bench inside my house to wait when the weather is bad. This way I can see out the window but still be comfortable. Is a similar option possible for you? -Melissa, team member
