I’ve been on the sick now with my copd 20 weeks

Hi please can someone give me advice as I’ve never felt so alone I’ve been on the sick now 20 weeks my husband is the landlord and I landlady the flat comes with our job I couldn’t manage my duties any longer so I went on the sick my husband has had a hip replacement surgery he’s on the sick we’ve received a council bungalow we just waiting for our keys then we moving out so we will become unemployed how and who do I send my sick note to when I won’t have an employer and how do I apply for ESA I’m not intelligent and lately my concentration span is dreadful my anxiety and depression is through the roof I’m only 60 years old I know my copd is my own fault because I’m a smoker I think what will become of us with no income coming in and I feel so alone xxx

  1. Hi , I hear how stressful and overwhelming this time has been for you. Do you have a local government office or an office for the aging? They should be able to help you work through the unemployment benefits system. Also, I know it is hard to not feel guilty about your smoking but try to remember that, while we all make decisions and must live with the consequences, no one asks to be sick or to have COPD.
