Chest tightness

I recently started experiencing chest tightness-no shortness of breath or wheezing-just tightness. Any insight as to why and what might help to relieve the tightness?

  1. Chest tightness is common in advanced COPD. However, this new symptom should be a conversation with your doctor because something has changed to cause this. It could be COPD or it could be the start of bigger issues. Please let us know what your doctor says.

    1. At my last visit, my physicians PA changed my inhaler from Anoro to Trelegy for I was experiencing shortness breath of breath and wheezing. Since on the new inhaler, no wheezing or shortness of breath but now experiencing chest discomfort.

      1. Hi Cloudy - thanks for sharing this with the community. Generally speaking, when a type of treatment has changed (like the change from Anoro to Trelegy), and new symptoms or side effects develop (like the chest tightness you described), it's a good idea to re-evaluate the new (medication) change first.
You will probably want to share this with your prescribing physician. The doctor will want to know how you are feeling now that you've been using Trelegy. Be sure to the doctor about the improvement in shortness of breath (SOB), and wheezing. And of course, you'll want to speak about the chest tightness / discomfort, too.
        What do you think?
