Anyone here using a BiPAP machine?

If so, can you tell us about it?

  1. I’ve used one at night for 15 years, when I was diagnosed. I have HCC, emphysema ,etc. Without it, my CO2 would get so high I would probably not make it till morning. I was diagnosed at “very severe”. The machine is just like my husbands cpap, except there’s an intake nipple that you plug your oxygen line into. The machine then pushes air in and pushes carbon dioxide out. I sleep very well and feel fortunate!

    1. Yup, me too. My first machine was kind of outdated and beat up, and they could never really get it to work right. Then they got bought out, and I got a new machine. The difference is night and day. No settings needed. You put on the mask, turn it on, and bye! It supposedly had some form of AI in it. I don't know, but it quickly self-adjusts to my breathing as the night progresses, and all I have to do is keep the filters clean. Makes an amazing difference in my sleeping. It is called an NIV, or non-invasive ventilator. It's a Lowenstein Luisa LM150TD. It works as good as the big fancy one at the hospital!
