I smoked all my life. Not since diagnosed. I have ups and down, when on predezone I feel great and can breathe ok, the minute the prescription ends I am back to difficulty breathing when I move around.

    Hello ellesig,
Do you have a pulmonologist? If not, you need to get your primary doctor to recommend one. I am no doctor, but it seems to me there should be more to your COPD care than prednisone alone. Like maybe a corticosteroid inhaler and an emergency inhaler for when you are out of breath. I would talk to my doctor and see what else they can do to help you out. Take care.

    1. Hi ellesig, and thanks for sharing your experience managing this condition with the community. I see our fellow community member, , has already provided sage advice based on his own experience managing this disease, and I concur with what he has said.
If you haven't already, you may find it beneficial to speak with your physician and/or even a specialist (pulmonologist) about COPD. The doctor will be able to provide you with the right medications for your individual level of disease. This type of 'medication regimen' may be able to help you feel better throughout the day.
      What do you think?

      1. Are you doing any exercises? Are you doing any respiratory therapy at home? Have you participated in a pulmonary rehab program? There are lots of things YOU can do to significantly improve your situation. Has your doctor mentioned any of these things to you?
