"I am at this moment experiencensing a very heavy bought of vertigo and Breathlesnes. At the moment I am lying in a dark room , and trying hard to write this .... I find the it helps if just being quiet and not focusing on any thing the symtems gradually but slowly ease up and I can start to move around a bit without getting to out of breath."
Unexplained, or known but frightening symptoms, can cause a lot of 'what if' anxieties, I know. I worked night shifts far more than days in my work history, so am up alone many nights.
I find that a comforting distraction can help tremendously, at least for me. I have a Great Dane who thinks of herself as a lap dog. When I get pain, shortness of breath, swelling, and general feelings of yuk, she can smell it. And she never leaves my side until I sleep or the pain subsides. She is my focus. And she can never have too many belly rubs or back scratches.
If you can tolerate an animal due to the dander, I have found it to be one of the best mutually beneficial arrangement there is.
