Here it is

  1. ,
It is a known fact that weather affects COPD sufferers. I can get out of breath walking to the bird feeder in the back yard and back. Sometimes walking to the end of the driveway to bring the garbage bin back causes me to be out of breath. For me, hot weather (like the 100-degree heat wave we are experiencing in Texas right now), windy days, high pollen days, cold weather (below 40 degrees) days, seem to be my flare up triggers. Rainy days and cooler weather don't seem to bother me. Everyone is different for sure. Since I have only been diagnosed with COPD since last fall, I can only speak to the past eight months as to what weather bothers me. I am sure in the next year or two, the list will be amended.

    1. Thanks for that, Leon. You put it in words for me. I just figure I will be around. I have too many projects left to think about not being around. I think that helps give me energy to get up ad do things, and keeps me from going down the rabbit hole.

    2. I'm glad this 'rang a bell', for you whirledpeas. As I said - this works well for me - busy is good - there will be plenty of time (I hope) to 'kick back' later on!
I do everything I can (as you do), to stay away from that particular rabbit hole!

  2. Hi kobie, and thanks for your post. I see community member , has already responded with an excellent 'on target' comment - thanks Dminor!
You are not alone, kobie, as others in the community have expressed similar sentiments when it comes to COPD being susceptible to changes in the weather.
Treating patients over the many years has demonstrated that for me time and time again.
We actually do have a wealth of material, on that very topic, published right here on COPD.net. For your convenience, here is a link to several of the articles: https://copd.net/search?s=weather%20and%20COPD. I do hope you find the information is helpful and pertinent in a practical way.
    Wishing you well,
