After doc examined me he said my heart is working too hard because l had a flare up. Has anyone else had this? I am so worried

I have not had this type of scenario. Did your doctor offer any solutions? Is your doctor a general practitioner or a pulmonologist? I am not a doctor, but it sounds to me like you need a flare up plan to execute when a flare up happens. If indeed a flare up is the cause of your heart working too hard. If your doctor is a general partitioner, you should ask your doctor for a referral to a pulmonologist. A pulmonologist would be able to answer your questions and help get you a plan to execute during a flare up. Take care and God Bless.

What did the doctor suggest? Depending on the actual problem there can be many solutions, so don't be too anxious. Once you can get the flare-up under control your heart will benefit as well.
Here's an article that I think will be helpful regarding COPD and your heart: https://copd.net/clinical/improve-heart-health

Hi Benny, and thanks for being a part of this conversation. I see my colleague,
I also have something to contribute. Your concerns are valid but, as Lyn suggested, once your lungs improve (from the flare-up), and the congestion eases up, one would expect the heart, (which is responding to the flare-up), to improve as well.
To be sure and to ease your concerns, you may want to discuss this at length with your physician. The doctor will be able to explain more about your present medical condition. As well, the doctor will be able to explain further what was meant by the words 'your heart is working too hard...'
I agree with Lyn, too - try to stay calm, monitor your condition, and seek out more of an explanation from your doctor.
What do you think?
