Bronchiectasis

Hi everyone! I have been having asthmatic chronic bronchitis for years and just lately, I have been diagnosed to have a bronchiectasis. Any advise as to how to cope with bronchiectasis considering that I already have asthmatic chronic bronchitis? Anyone who knows what could be a treatment for bronchiectasis besides antibiotics?

Thank you.

  1. Hi Bronchidom, and thanks for your post. I am hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own personal experience managing bronchiectasis.
We do have a number of articles published, right here on COPD.net, which focuses on this condition which I thought might be of interest to you. For your convenience, here is a link to several of those articles:

    1. I just joined and read your post. I was diagnosed with both Bronchiectasis and COPD (Emphysema) last year. I'm in the midst of my 4th exacerbation in the last 15 months. I was prescribed Spiriva and Flonase (perpetual use), and I'm taking Prednisone, Amoxiclav, Mucinex D, and Delsym currently. The combo greatly reduced my coughing.

      1. thank you for sharing what has worked well for you! It sounds like you have found the right options to control your coughing. I'm sorry to hear you are having another exacerbation we know how difficult and scary those can be. Hopefully, you are able to get the rest you need to recover quickly and this one passes soon. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).
