Anoro Ellipta Bronchodilator

I have recently been diagnosed with COPD. I have never been on any medication for my COPD. My family doctor prescribed the Anoro Ellipta bronchodilator to treat my COPD.

I would appreciate any comments you may have about your experience using the Anoro Ellipta bronchodilator (how long on it, benefits you have felt, side effects.)

  1. Hi @Dutchie, I am so glad you reached out and I am so glad you found our community. Getting a new diagnosis can be very overwhelming. While I hope you hear back from our community members with their personal experiences, I am sending you an overview article about this medication, which lists possible side effects. We are here for you! Jill, COPD.net, team member

    1. Jill,
Thank you for your response and link to the site providing information on Anoro Ellipta.

      1. I took Anoro Ellipta for several years, but when I finally went to a pulmonary specialist because of PAH, she put me on Trelegy for my COPD. It seems to be helping me better. Best wishes!

        1. Thank you for your reply and comments about Trelegy

      2. I was diagnosed with emphysema 4 years ago I was also given the same medication as you unfortunately I am not being treated with any medication as I had bad side effects from anoro ellipta. I developed severe back pain in the worst sore throat that I've ever had it would not go away the only thing that relieved my symptoms was stopping the medicine I am now frustrated as my emphysema is getting worse and all the medicines out there I'm told has the same active ingredient that I have bad reactions to

        1. Hi CM92792f, and thanks for sharing your own personal experiences managing this disease (COPD), and using this medication. We appreciate it.
Sometimes, determining just-the-right medication regimen can take some doing. Often times, it can be a trial-and-error approach working (very closely), with one's doctor(s). Even though several of the medications may be similar, there can be subtle differences between them that may not affect you in the same way this medication (Anoro Ellipta) did. There are also a host of other medications that you (and your doctor), may be able to consider. Do you think speaking with your physician (and possible your pharmacist, as well), may help in this instance?
