My story

Hello my name is Ricky, 58 year old with COPD and vascular disease. Quad bypass 7 years ago. Chronic bronchitis and emphysema. I had my first MI at 45 and have had 4 more since with multiple stents. Carotid endarterectomy 14 years ago. Fem-pop bypass 3 years ago. Just trying to keep waking up every day. It’s hard some days to do anything. I get out of breath walking from one room to the other. I haven’t quit yet though. Just helped mow the yard. Won’t do anything else today. Thanks for reading my story.

Hi Ricky and welcome! It sounds like you have faced many serious medical challenges in your lifetime, and faced them quite well! To be compromised by both lung disease and cardiovascular disease to such an extent, is not something everyone has experience with. I’m very much impressed with your inner strength and positive attitude. It’s gratifying to hear what you strive to do each and every day. Be kind to yourself and take the breaks when you can!
We’re glad to have you as part of our online community and appreciate you sharing your story with us so candidly. Please know that you are always welcome here.
    All the best,
