Richard’s Story

I’m 54 and have been playing hurling for 20 years. I retired 18 years ago. Two years ago I noticed when I was out walking my two legs would cramp after a 10 min walk so I went to the Dr. The Dr found nothing wrong so kept plod’n along. One day I wasn’t feel’n well and he sent me to the hospital… That’s where they discovered I had a narrow’n in heart so I got a stent in. So 2 years on my legs are the same and then I got very sick, was in hospital and they diagnosed me with COPD 3weeks ago. So it was a bit of a shock to put it mildly.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and joining the community, Anthony9999. A COPD diagnosis can be incredibly overwhelming and a lot to process! What are your doctors recommending for you at this time?

We cannot offer medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your safety!), however, there are others in the community who also experience cramping as part of COPD. I thought these two articles (one a discussion thread from the forum) might be of interest to you:
