New to COPD

My Dad smoked, my brother and I started in high school. I smoked 20 years, but quit 40 years ago.

I noticed changes in my health

Last September I had hyper inflated lungs. I didn't go to doctor in April because of COVID shutdown. I live were the summers are hot & humid, so I missed a lot of outdoor activities, but granddaughters ball games. Carrying my lawn chair had me stopping to catch my breath. I get short of breath with activity.

Treatment helped me feel like my old self

I have only had 2 coughing spells since September. I have an elephant on my chest a lot. Started with Trelegy, rinsed a lot, got thrush. Then with med for that my face started Peking. So we med for 7 days. Then no meds for 2 weeks. Except for fatigue I felt like my old self.

New medication and how I'm currently doing

Started Symbacort now, feel shakey inside heart rate high. Pulse ox low no good. I am doing better on this med, rinsing more, it still not sure. Some days, since onset, also, severe asthma, a shower or just going to mail box are enough. Anxiety high, gloomy winter. The cold does not bother my breathing as much.

Sorry this is so long. Just need to learn what to do about fatigue. I am a widow, staying safe at home, in Senior apt. Have groceries delivered, because of weather, church on line. I do take “mental health drives”. Thanks for reading. Next post will not be so long.
