My dad

Just joined this forum. My dad has stage 4 COPD with 24/7 oxygen. Lately things seem to be getting worse as he gets so breathless after a few steps. I'm just dreading the cold weather as that's when he usually gets flare-ups. His last flare-up was last December and it was just awful... so frightening. Thanks for reading.

I too have stage 4 COPD 24/7 O2. I dread the winter as well. I'm an Alpha 1 (genetic COPD). I just joined today, hoping to connect with others in this stage, so I'm glad you joined. Your dad is fortunate to have you. Take good care of yourself. I wish I had a child as concerned as you are. I know it's hard to see someone suffer, but the support you give is priceless to him. Hang in there.

I am sorry you are gong through this with your dad. It is very hard as parents to see our children sick, and equally as hard to see our parents sick. And not be about to help them. Yes winters are hard on us. Make sure he keeps a scarf around his mouth when he's out, this will help to keep the breath he takes in warmer I gave found.
