It's been a heck of a year.

I quit smoking about 25 years ago. Diagnosed with COPD about 5 years ago. About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a condition called polymyalgia rheumatica. Had to be on high doses of prednisone then tapered down over about a year and a half. Well, with osteoporosis and taking prednisone I got inflammatory arthritis and a few bulging and herniated discs with sciatica. I had to retire at the age of 64. As a nurse I was unable to stand or walk too long. Winters in NH were hell on all my conditions. I had a cousin living in FL who said she had a spare room and I was welcome to move in with her. I drove down with my dog. Got there and she said my dog was too big and vicious (because he barks) and I could not stay there. Well, here I was stuck in FL. Went to another cousin's house for a short time. Finally found an apt. BUT, no furniture, appliances, dishes, nothing because I got rid of it all in NH figuring I wouldn't need them. So here I am. Getting stuff little by little. Starting over with new doctors. My biggest problem is the cost of COPD meds. My new insurance doesn't pay nearly as much as my old one so I really can't afford them. Pharmaceutical companies suck.
