I’m fine thanks

Hello. I got so fed up with explaining to friends and some family how I was feeling that I just say, I’m fine thanks. My wife doesn’t have to ask me, she knows as do my sons and daughter.

I just want to add that when I was in the hospital last year I made a vow that if I got out ok I was going to get in touch with some of my old mates – which I did!

Four of us who went everywhere together as youngsters are going out for a meal, all of us in our late 60s and all of us sick: one has cancer, one has had a stroke, one a heart problem, and me with COPD – but we are still out there fighting for some sort of normality. What a sight we must look! I dare anyone to ask how we are. They will never get away, lol.

Oh Wally that story just made me smile! I’m so happy for you and your friends. The time we have to spend with friends, old or new can never be replaced or underestimated. I”m so glad you were able to do that. Maybe you’ll decide to make it a yearly ritual.

Some people are curious and some truly share, but it can get frustrating. Your wife and children knowing is the way it should be, the others are up to you.

Wally, how wonderful that you will have a get together with your friends. That brought such a smile! What a hoot, I want to be a fly in the corner if someone asks your four some how they are doing. I hope you all have an awesome time.
