COPD/emphysema

I’m 78 – well, 79 this month. I was diagnosed years ago and have had more shortness of breath lately since I had a flare-up a few weeks ago. I’m trying to figure out things. I take combivent, advair, and spiriva as well as the nebulizer and have done 2 pulmonary rehabs at MGH in the last 2 years. I’m at the gym again, but have more trouble just walking around early in the day and I had 10 colds or infections in one year. Well that’s it for now. – Bob M.

    Hi Bobm,

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Sounds like you’ve been going through quite a bit. Sorry to hear you had a recent flare-up, however it is great to hear that you are going to the gym. Hopefully you find it helpful. I thought you would be interested in the following articles – https://copd.net/treatment/natural-remedies-overview/, https://copd.net/treatment/natural-remedies-overview/supplements/. They discuss natural remedies for the treatment of various COPD symptoms that possibly could be used in conjunction with your current treatment regiment. We always suggest checking in with your doctor before trying out new treatments, even if they are natural! But perhaps you will find something that is helpful. Again, thank you for sharing your story with us. Please continue to reach out when needed. We love hearing from you!

    Warmly,

    Meaghan (COPD.net Team)
