Breo® Ellipta® (fluticasone furoate and vilanterol trifenatate powder) is a long-term treatment option for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a combination of two drugs that are taken with a single inhaler.1

What are the ingredients in Breo Ellipta?

The active ingredients in Breo Ellipta are fluticasone furoate and vilanterol trifenatate.1

How does Breo Ellipta work?

Breo Ellipta is a combination of an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA).1

ICS drugs reduce inflammation and swelling in the airways. LABAs relax the muscles surrounding the airways. The combination of an ICS and a LABA makes it easier to breathe and reduces COPD symptoms.1

What are the possible side effects?

Side effects are possible but uncommon. They may include:1

  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Upper respiratory tract infection
  • Thrush (fungal infection) in the mouth or throat

To avoid getting thrush, rinse your mouth after taking Breo Ellipta.1

These are not all the possible side effects of Breo Ellipta. Talk to your doctor about what to expect when taking Breo Ellipta. You also should call your doctor if you have any changes that concern you when taking Breo Ellipta.1
