Reviewed by: HU Medical Review Board | Last reviewed: December 2023
Tudorza® Pressair® (aclidinium bromide inhalation powder) is a prescription drug used to treat some people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). People with COPD may take Tudorza Pressair over time to relieve COPD-linked bronchospasms. Bronchospasms are when muscles in your lungs tighten, which causes breathing problems.1,2
Tudorza Pressair is a medicine in powder form that is inhaled by mouth through an inhaler. Tudorza Pressair® is a long-term (maintenance) treatment. It is not a rescue medicine. That means it should not be used for treating sudden breathing problems.1
What are the ingredients in Tudorza Pressair?

How does Tudorza Pressair work?
COPD can cause symptoms such as:3
- Mucus
- Wheezing
- Cough
- Chest tightness
- Shortness of breath
Tudorza belongs to a class of drugs called long-acting muscarinic antagonists or LAMAs. LAMAs work by blocking the action of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine. This process relaxes muscles in the airways, which reduces the symptoms of COPD. Specifically, it targets the M3 receptor in the smooth muscle of the airways of the lungs, leading to bronchodilation, or widening of the airways.1,3
