How does Incruse work?
Umeclidinium is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). LAMAs work by blocking the action of a chemical messenger that tells the airways to contract. This process relaxes the muscles that surround the airways, which makes it easier to breathe.1
What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects of Incruse Ellipta include:1
- Bruising
- Cough
- Joint pain
- Mouth and throat pain
- Muscle pain
- Stomach pain
- Stuffy or runny nose
- Upper respiratory tract infection
If your breathing problems quickly get worse after taking Incruse Ellipta, contact your doctor right away or seek emergency care.1

If you have a severe allergy to milk proteins, you should avoid taking Incruse Ellipta.1
Experts do not know whether Incruse Ellipta is safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding. Before taking this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to breastfeed.1
Before beginning treatment for COPD, tell your doctor about all your health conditions and any other drugs, vitamins, or supplements you are taking. This includes over-the-counter drugs.
