Reviewed by: HU Medical Review Board | Last reviewed: May 2023

Brovana® (arformoterol tartrate) is an inhalation solution used to control symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).1

Brovana is a long-term maintenance treatment. It is taken twice a day to help manage and control ongoing COPD symptoms. It is not meant to treat sudden, severe COPD symptoms.1

What are the ingredients in Brovana?

The active ingredient in Brovana is arformoterol tartrate.1

How does Brovana work?

The active ingredient in Brovana, arformoterol tartrate, is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). This means it activates beta2-adrenergic receptors in the body. This helps smooth muscles relax, including the muscles in the airways. This can open the airways and reduce bronchospasms. Plus, when these muscles are relaxed, common COPD symptoms like chest tightness, shortness of breath, and wheezing may be improved.1
