Spring Cleaning and COPD

This month, COPD.net is discussing Spring Cleaning as it relates to the condition - because living with COPD can make those household chores even more difficult! Here at COPD.net we want to help support each other in any way we can - so let's talk about making that housework easier...

Do you have any tips and tricks you’d like to share?

Would you tell us what your least favorite chore is and how you get around to doing it?

If you're thinking of anything else related to this topic, come join the forum conversation!!!

  1. Tips made aware to me are probably already known. I'm here to learn. As I'm attempting to clean more, I've begun to wheeze more. I'm not sure where to locate the tips on this site. I clicked spring cleaning forum, yet saw nothing

    1. Hi Mrs.GJ!

Thanks so much for coming to our site! While people may share tips here (at the time I'm writing this, none have been shared yet), this article shares community tips on doing household chores with COPD: https://copd.net/living/community-feedback-household-chores/. It should give you lots of new ideas - I hope they are helpful! Thanks again for visiting our forums, and please do feel free to come by any time!

      Best,
      Jenn (Community Manager, COPD.net)

  2. Welcome, Mrs. GJ!
You've come to the right place as we are all about all things related to COPD. Besides the excellent link that Jenn has provided, I thought it might be helpful (while we're talking about 'cleaning', to provide this link to an article about making sure the home is 'mold free'. This may not be an issue for everyone, but it's worth knowing about for future reference: https://copd.net/living/inspect-home-mold/

We're glad to have you as part of our online community.
    All the best,
    Leon (site moderator)

    1. Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to share this brand new article on do-it-yourself, natural, simple cleaning solutions: https://copd.net/living/simple-diy-cleaning-solutions/. The point is to have cleaning materials that do not trigger COPD symptoms, so we hope this is helpful.

      1. The single best tip I could give anyone suffering with COPD is to always clean up after yourself!
The next piece of advice I can give is to get yourself a lightweight SWIFTER and use it regularly to clean up small messes before they become big messes. Try to get some help with the heavier cleaning if you can.
