IS IT COPD?

Hi IPPY, and thanks for your post. You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concerns certainly warrant a reply.
What I find curious is that a nurse from your insurance company has reached out to you BEFORE or WITHOUT you receiving a diagnosis from your physician.
What has transpired between you and your doctor? Clearly, you are describing symptoms that can be associated with COPD, but there really should be oversight of a specific disease from your physician. There seems to be something missing, at this point.

I find that patients are much more self educated on strange symptoms and diseases that affect them. I find doctors may only understand cookie cutter symptoms. It was only because a patient wrote down her experiences of vertigo and dizziness etc.. that led me to take monolaurin to help a virus that may be caused by the Herpes family that helped her to be able to be well again. I was mostly housebound for 2 months till I came across a patients experience. Out of her desperation I received knowledge and hope and a cure! The words "Clearly,you are describing symptoms that can be associated with COPD" is all I need to hear. Thank you for your wisdom. I am a CFIDS patient. We can develop different diseases that are more accepted such as COPD. My situation is unique. I do get it. I DO know why THEY did not tell me. It is too complicated to explain. I want to learn more from others about the symptoms I expressed. Are there articles about it? Why have I not read any patient speaking of COPD without coughing experiences? And gagging? I read people going through what I go through on the internet without a diagnosis. It seems that my symptoms get worse when around too much dust and dirt and weather changes such as intense heat. worse in the morning. When my body is fighting something. The other day at night at the park. My pulmonologist said I have allergic Rhinitus and I take singular and have an inhaler when I have these episodes. (Albuterol) Thank you again for telling me that COPD patients DO have these experiences. It is very informative but I want to read articles about it and hear them from other patients.

When you mentioned CFIDS, were you referring to 'chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome'? I wanted to clarify that for our members who may be reading your post.

Are you being followed by a physician for your symptoms? Has a doctor actually diagnosed you as having COPD?

Yes. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome in the 90's from a famous infectious disease doctor well known for it. I failed to mention that I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis by a pulmonologist 2 summers ago. I took that breath test as well. It came up normal but I did better after blowing with the medication. Doctor said she was unclear with my results because there was no starting point to compare it to. I am on singulair and had to use my albuterol inhaler because of a out of a blue attack recently. Recently took breath test with another doctor. Got a call from the a nurse a few days later from my insurance company saying " I know you said u don't have COPD but if u need to talk about anything we are here. So my conclusion.Yes I probably have an infectious form of it. Thank you so much for the information and helping me!
