Heat and Humidity

How do you fight the heat and humidity of summer?

  1. I pretty much stay inside with air-conditioning. Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Mary and thanks for answering Stephanie's question to the community. That is a perfect way to avoid the heat & humidity in the summertime, by staying indoors where it's air conditioned.
We have also heard that when folks 'need' to go out, they reduce their exposure by trying to go out early in the morning or late in the evening once the heat and humidity have dissipated.

      1. Hi ! I'm brand new here. I'm Rene1949. I have, I am told, COPD/Emphysema end stage. No, I don't agree. I 'll detail my condition another time. I haven't much time before company comes today so I wanted to get this posted first. How do I fight the heat and humidity of summer ? Well, besides that wonderful a/c, I spend time in our pool. It's not a big expensive thing. BUT, I can sit on the bottom and be in the water up to my neck .. all day ! I have my travel oxygen with me, although it's not always in my nose. When needed, I use it. When air quality demands, I wear a surgical mask. I have a chair-umbrella that is hooked to the wood frame, keeping me in total shade the whole time I'm in the water. I have a 6" battery-operated fan that, if needed, is aimed right at my face. I keep plenty of cold water for drinking and watermelon cubes to prevent dehydrating. I am in the process of creating a partially submerged float to sit in/on to read my books. Right now, I kneel in the water and prop my book on the wood frame. Now I hope this helps somebody else. My company is pulling in the driveway so I have to stop. Have a Happy Independence Day, Folks, and make it a safe weekend ! Breath Easy !Seeya's ! Rene1949
