Pain and COPD

I was diagnosed with COPD in 2009. At first, I had no pain, but after treatment with prednisone, I developed diabetes and osteoporosis. Because of the steroids, I fractured L2 in my spine.

I went to a pain management physician and they recommended that I have a procedure to place cement into the fracture to relieve the pain. I also saw a neurologist who reviewed my CT scan and X-rays and said surgery was indicated but because of my other issues, it was not recommended that I undergo surgery. So, I suffer with the pain.

This disease manifests itself in so many ways and it seems that other problems seem to emanate from it. It's painful to walk, so now I depend on a walker when I have to venture out.

So, to sum it up, there is pain (sometimes excruciating), but we must carry on! At least my feet hit the floor this morning.
