Too young to be treated

I was about 30, when I started my symptoms. I lived in Germany at the time. I often had pneumonia. The doctors had no idea what was wrong with me. So I left my home, career and my husband. In 1997, came back to the states.

I saw a doctor and was diagnosed with emphysema. However, they wouldn't treat me, because the doctors said I was too young to have it. I often had grand mal seizures, lungs collapsing and pneumonia. I was on oxygen for 5 years, 24 hours a day. But one thing I had every morning was a can of Pepsi. Not knowing, that helped me burp - which open my lungs.

The morning I didn't have a Pepsi was in 2007. My lungs gave out. I was rushed to WE. They put in a chest tube. That's the last I remember. I woke up, in University of Wa, 6 days later from a medical induced coma. They gave me 2 days in a medical coma. When I woke up I realized they did a bullectomy. Life since then is so much better. No more seizures, no oxygen. I still have shortness of breath, people always get concerned. I just calm myself and it will pass. The only thing I haven't figured out is sex. It turns people off when you can't breathe.
