COPD and RSV

My name is Sharyn Goodwin and I have COPD. Have had it a long time. The doctor says I have stage 4. I do quite well getting around but my worst time is taking a shower. I was diagnosed with RSV, which a baby usually gets, but for people with COPD it affects them just like it does a baby. I have not been well since, and I used to do water aerobics 3 times a week. I was wondering if anyone had RSV.

Hi Sharon and thanks for sharing your experience with COPD and RSV with the community. For those who are unfamiliar with it, RSV is the acronym for the respiratory syncytial virus. I’m hopeful you will get a response from the community, Sharon. You may want to visit our Facebook page and give more in the community an opportunity to read what you have to say. I am not familiar with RSV, however if you use oxygen when you shower it is comfortable. Don’t use hot water but warm. Hang the the tubing over shower head.

    Hi Sharon:
My wife is in the hospital with RSV as I type this. I’m seeing first hand how difficult it can be on someone with COPD.

I sure hope you’re feeling better!
