What I found out on my way to a diet

A little item that I recently learned has helped me especially on reexamining my diet and what to do and not to do.

I had been on a fairly strict, low carb diet. It worked well and my weight was going down so I was happy. But, after about three months I found that bit by bit I was getting more and more fatigued and exhausted by the least little thing that I did. Finally, I wanted to sleep more than anything else and soon my diet was a thing of the past. After a couple months, I was still drug out but better. I started doing some research and found many articles about those with COPD should keep their calorie count higher than the average person due to our breathing difficulties causing us to burn them faster.

So, now I am ready to go back on a diet again but I am armed with the knowledge that I need to increase my food intake enough that I don't waste my body away and weaken my muscles especially around my lungs. I will not eat a boat load of carbs but I will include more healthy grains to my diet and keep my protein up plus add lots of fruits and veggies as well. I drink quite a bit of water but will add more to help keep the mucus moving (grand thought huh?) All in all, I am sure that I will feel much better and hopefully lose a little more weight. Hope this helps someone. Breathe easy my friends and eat well.
