Action Plan

HI folks Just got home from hospital where I learned after having receive emergency I.V. and inhaler facemask to inhale yet more drugs that when your doctor gives you a home action plan to take when you first notice a problem like a cold coming on that the thing that makes you action plan work is the first word ACTION. Also learned that there is no such thing a slight cold when you have copd . Ended up taking action plan medication when I got home which would have probably would have saved me a trip to hospital and a lot of discomfort .Just passing along some information that we all know but sometimes forget.

Hi loissully and thanks for joining in the conversation here. That was quite a lengthy hospital stay you shared with us. Sometimes, it can take a considerable amount of time to ‘bounce back’ from an acute exacerbation as you described. It’s good to hear you’re doing so well with the CPAP machine you use at night. Getting a good night sleep goes a long way towards helping you to manage this condition. Wishing you well. Leon (site moderator)

Good advice on following what our physicians think best as well as developing an “action plan”. I keep Mucinex handy for when my chest congestion worsens and it helps.

Hi garrys, thank you for sharing. ACTION plans are so important and I’m grateful for the reminder, because, yes I do forget. I’m sure others will appreciate this as well.

I’m glad that you noticed and treated your cold right away. I hope you are feeling better.
