How do I quit smoking?

  1. Quitting smoking is imperative to a person diagnosed with COPD. It can be challenging, but it can most definitely be done! I like to keep the motto "one day at a time" when it comes to quitting smoking. It helps alleviate some stress and anxiety about not smoking ever again. You just only have to not smoke for the one day that is ahead of you (for the one minute, or one hour). You can break it down however you like! The following articles provide more in depth information related to quitting smoking, the process, resources, and coping mechanisms - https://copd.net/pulmonary-rehab/lifestyle/quitting-smoking, https://copd.net/living/why-quitting-smoking-can-prolong-life, https://copd.net/treatment/medication-overview/stop-smoking, https://copd.net/living/rewards-quitting-smoking-nutshell.
