Is genetic COPD treatment different from any other COPD?

Is genetic COPD treatment different from any other COPD? What is the purpose for the testing?

  1. Hi Lazy T and thanks for your posted inquiry. Although we are unable to provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), your concern certainly warrants a comment. In the most general of terms, the symptoms of COPD are treated the same, regardless of the etiology.
The testing (for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency) is just that, to determine if the person being tested has a genetic predisposition for the disease.

I hope this brief reply provides some insight for your question.
