This article lays out some of those considerations and may be helpful for you: https://copd.net/living/pets-with-copd/ If the benefit outweighs the challenges, with a little creativity, it is absolutely possible to live with COPD while having a dog. You might consider having someone come in to help walk and feed the dog on particularly rough days. Also, if you type “pets” into the search on the site [upper right under the COPD.net banner at the top of the page], you will find a few other articles and stories of how other members have handled this question!
