    Hi Gator

I’ve had several bronchoscopes and each time it was a breeze. They put me into a twilight sleep. They scraped dry mucus from my lungs and I didn’t feel a thing, during the procedure or after.

Talk to the doctor who will be doing the procedure. Let him/her know of your concerns. Here is a link that talks about bronchoscope.

I’m glad that you found us. Know that we are here for you.

    Hi Gator,
Like Leon said, please ask your doctor some frank questions. In fact, take a list of questions and write down the answers so that you can make an informed decision on what you need vs the risks involved.

Hi Gator and thanks for your post. While we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), your concern certainly warrants a reply. In the most general of terms, a bronchoscopy, (just like any procedure) can be associated with risks. It would be best for you to further this discussion with the doctor(s) who will be performing this procedure with you. Please do check back and let us know how you’re doing. Wishing you well, Leon (site moderator)
