Has anyone used augmentation therapy for Alpha-1?

Has anyone with Alpha-1 used augmentation therapy and then stopped it? I am curious to know if breathing was better, worse or the same after? My doctor is not sure if it will help me or not. I am wondering stopping it later. I am stage 2 emphysema, Thank you for your thoughts.
